About the Role

As part of our dedicated team, you will:

  • Support the learning and development of children aged 2–4 years.
  • Act as a Key Person with responsibility for a key group of children.
  • Lead the setting’s SEND provision.
  • Work with the team to identify and support children with additional needs.
  • Use the Graduated Approach (“assess, plan, do, review”) to identify, develop and review SEND support.
  • Work closely with SEND families and outside professionals/agencies.
  • Work closely with Preschool Manager, Key Persons, Behaviour Lead and Speech and Language Lead.
  • Support and model to staff, inclusive practice and SEND approaches.
  • Use office time effectively to liaise with the team, parents, professionals and complete SEND paperwork and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.

Requirements:

  • A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
  • At least 2 years experience working in a setting and confidence in delivering SEND interventions to children and communicating with families.
  • Experience leading a key group of children.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS and inclusive SEND practice.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • If not already SEND qualified, a willingness to start a relevant Level 3 SEND accreditation within first 12 months of employment.
  • Evidence of personal development of own practice in relation to the EYFS and SEND.
  • Experience supporting and guiding staff in SEND practice.
  • Experience working with external professionals and agencies.

Other Information

This is a part-time role, working 3.5 to 4 days a week (Tuesday to Friday) between the hours of 9:00am and 3:15pm. Salary range ÂŁ13.50 - ÂŁ16.00 per hour depending on experience. Additional pay for staff meetings, training and key group admin. All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks, suitable references and safer recruitment procedures.
