Senior Support Worker Salary: £15,298 to £15,764 per annum, depending on qualifications. (including 2 sleep‑ins per month paid at £64.95 per night). Maximum full time job rate potential is £16,391 per annum, performance related. (including 2 sleep‑ins per month paid at £64.95 per night).
Hours: Part time (19 hours per week). You will be required to work shifts.

About the role: We are seeking experienced residential childcare professionals to make a real, lasting impact. For some young people, the behaviours caused by the trauma they have experienced means they need additional support. Break’s solo children’s homes offer these individuals the full attention they need to be able to thrive. Our children’s homes are more than just a place to stay—they are warm, welcoming environments where children and young people who for various reasons, cannot live with their own families can feel safe, cared for, and valued. While there will still be an opportunity to work directly with young people, you’ll also take on some extra responsibilities – line managing support workers, overseeing staff performance and welfare, and directing staff and resources effectively during shifts, including participation in an on‑call rota to ensure continuous service delivery.
About you: As a Children’s senior support worker, no two days are the same and you will be instrumental in creating a nurturing and supportive environment where young people can thrive and achieve positive outcomes. You will encourage new experiences and support young people to develop their own identity, confidence, and independence along with the help and guidance of your colleagues and Break’s therapeutic services. This role may occasionally involve managing challenging behaviour, which can include situations where there is a risk of physical confrontation. You will need to successfully complete a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within the first 24 months of support work – this will be fully funded by Break and you will be supported by our training team.
*Please note that you must have a full, valid, manual driving licence.
