We are recruiting for a Senior Support Worker, this is a full-time on-site role located in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. The Senior Support Worker will provide dedicated support to young people, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Mentoring young people
- Ensuring safeguarding
- Maintaining high-quality care standards
- Supporting the development of essential life skills
- Effective communication and collaboration with other team members, families, and external stakeholders to ensure the well-being and progress of those in care
Qualifications:
- Experience and expertise in providing support work and mentoring to young people
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and sustain meaningful relationships
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices and the ability to respond to challenges effectively and responsibly
- Familiarity with technical support systems used in care environments
- A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of work
- Relevant experience or training in social care, youth work, or similar settings
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or willingness to work toward the qualification is desirable
- A valid driver’s license and flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, if required
