About the Role: As a Break Support Worker youâll be working handsâon day in day out with the young people living in the childrenâs home. For some young people, the behaviours caused by the trauma they have experienced means they need additional support. Breakâs solo childrenâs homes offer these individuals the full attention they need to be able to thrive. Youâll work with a tightâknit team of colleagues to build a relationship and trust bond with the young people living at the home. Youâll be a positive role model, supporting them in overcoming their previous trauma and learning to trust in adults again, along with the help and guidance of your colleagues and Breakâs therapeutic services. You will encourage new experiences, supporting the young people to develop their own identity. Youâll be patient, thrive in a team environment, able to support those around you and have the emotional intelligence and resilience to manage challenging situations. To be successful in the role youâll be a good team player, and a problem solver. You will need to successfully complete an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare before you complete 24 months of Support Work. This will be fully funded by Break and you will be supported by our training team. Please note that you must have a full, valid, manual driving licence.
