People are our biggest asset in our organisation. We recognise that the key to providing the highest quality of care is to ensure we have a diverse workforce using their life experiences to give the children and young people a well-rounded right start in life. We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. The first interview will be a Safe Care/ Warner style interview. If successful after the first interview, candidates will then be expected to attend a formal interview. An enhanced DBS check is required for the role. This will be funded by Break. To comply with OFSTED requirements, you will be asked to provide details of your full employment history.
Looking for flexible work that fits around your lifestyle? As a Relief Support Worker, you can choose shifts that suit your availability while making a real difference in the lives of children and young people in care. Some young people have experienced significant trauma and need additional, individualised support to help them feel safe, secure and understood. Break's solo children's homes provide a nurturing environment where young people receive the dedicated care, attention and therapeutic support they need to thrive. With patience, empathy and consistency, you'll be a positive role model, helping young people rebuild their confidence, develop trusting relationships with adults and begin to overcome the challenges they've faced. Working alongside a supportive team and Break's therapeutic services, you'll help create an environment where every young person feels valued, listened to and encouraged to be themselves. You'll support young people to try new experiences, discover their interests, develop their own identity and build the confidence and independence they need to look forward to a brighter future. You'll need to complete a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within the first 24 months of employment. Break will fully fund your qualification and provide support through its training team. A full UK driving licence is preferred for this role.
At Break we invest in the future of our staff just as we do for the young people in our services. We strive to provide the highest quality of care, so whether you're just starting your career in children's social care or are already qualified, you'll be supported, recognised and rewarded for your essential part in our vital work.
