The Role:
This is a senior Commercial Manager position on a large scale data centre construction project with opportunities in Ireland and major cities across Europe. Reporting to the Commercial Lead, you will take full ownership of commercial performance on site. You will drive cost control, procurement strategy, financial reporting and contractual governance across a fast track, high value mission critical project. You will lead and develop the on site commercial team while working closely with project directors, construction managers and the client to ensure the project is delivered profitably and in line with programme objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all commercial and procurement functions on a large scale data centre project.
- Implement and maintain strong cost control and budget management processes.
- Prepare and present detailed commercial reports to senior leadership.
- Develop procurement strategies aligned with programme and cost objectives.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiations and contract administration.
- Oversee valuations, variations, final accounts and cash flow forecasting.
- Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure contractual compliance and protection of commercial interests.
- Support accurate client billing and financial reporting.
- Promote best practice commercial management across the project team.
About You:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline.
- 10 years plus experience in a Commercial Manager or senior commercial role.
- Strong background in construction, engineering, infrastructure or mission critical projects.
- Proven experience leading commercial teams on high value builds.
- Excellent knowledge of cost management, procurement and contract administration.
- Comfortable operating in fast paced, technically complex project environments.
- Strong negotiation, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and commercial management systems.
- Data centre, energy, pharmaceutical or industrial construction experience is advantageous.
