This established contractor delivers mechanical, electrical and construction packages across major projects throughout Ireland and the UK, including commercial, healthcare, industrial, pharmaceutical and life sciences developments.
Based from Strabane, Co Tyrone, they are strengthening their commercial team with an experienced Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor. There is a clear progression route towards Commercial MEP Manager for someone ready to take on greater responsibility across the business.
The Role:
You will take commercial ownership of significant mechanical and electrical packages from pre-construction and procurement through to final account. Working closely with clients, subcontractors, project teams and senior management, you'll manage cost control, CVRs, procurement, valuations, variations, contractual matters and commercial reporting. As you develop within the position, you'll gain greater exposure to multi-project commercial management, team leadership and wider commercial strategy.
Must Have Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in MEP Quantity Surveying or MEP commercial management.
- Proven experience managing large-value mechanical and electrical packages.
- Strong knowledge of M&E building services, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
Preferred Experience:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
- Experience across data centres, pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, industrial or major commercial projects.
- Experience mentoring junior commercial staff would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial management of MEP packages from procurement through to final account.
- Prepare cost forecasts, cash flows and monthly CVRs.
- Manage applications for payment, valuations, variations and change control.
- Procure and commercially manage M&E subcontractors.
- Negotiate variations and final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
- Monitor project costs, risks and commercial opportunities.
- Lead commercial meetings and provide accurate reporting to senior management.
- Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team.
About You:
You're an experienced Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor who understands both mechanical and electrical packages and can confidently manage the commercial side of major projects. You'll be commercially sharp, comfortable dealing directly with clients and subcontractors and ready to progress beyond individual project responsibility towards Commercial MEP Manager level.
