Help customers navigate the product approval and certification journey. BRE is looking for a Certification Project Manager to join our Fire Detection and Testing / Electronic Security team. This is a customer-facing role where you will manage product approval projects from initial enquiry through to final sign-off. You will work closely with customers, internal laboratories, technical colleagues, approval agencies and accreditation bodies to ensure projects are scoped, progressed and completed in line with the relevant approval, testing and compliance requirements.
You do not need to come from an identical certification project management background. We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have an electronics qualification or electronics background and are looking to move into the world of certification, technical approvals and customer-facing project management. This could be an excellent opportunity for someone with technical knowledge who enjoys working with customers, solving problems, coordinating activity and bringing structure to complex technical processes.
What you will be doing
- Manage product approval projects from initial enquiry through to final project sign-off.
- Scope new projects and prepare quotations for customers.
- Review customer technical product documentation and identify any gaps or issues.
- Compile and verify test programmes and technical approval files.
- Review test reports from internal laboratories.
- Support customers in understanding what is needed to demonstrate compliance.
- Help resolve type approval, testing or process issues.
- Liaise with internal departments, customers, approval agencies and accreditation bodies.
- Keep clients updated on project progress and next steps.
- Support delivery in line with LPCB schemes, Construction Products Regulation requirements and internal processes.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who can bring a mix of technical understanding, project coordination, customer communication and attention to detail. You may have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Product approvals, certification, compliance or technical project management.
- Fire detection, fire testing, electronic security, life safety systems, construction products or product testing.
- Technical documentation review, test reports, technical files or approval files.
- Working with laboratories, certification bodies, approval schemes or regulated technical processes.
- Managing multiple customer-facing projects or technical workstreams.
- Supporting customers, suppliers or internal teams to resolve technical or compliance issues.
We would also be happy to hear from candidates with an electronics qualification, electronics engineering background, apprenticeship, BTEC or similar technical foundation, especially if you are looking to develop into a certification and approvals role.
You will be a good fit if you:
- Enjoy working with technical information and evidence.
- Have strong attention to detail.
- Can manage multiple projects, customers or priorities at the same time.
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Are comfortable asking questions, clarifying requirements and challenging incomplete information.
- Can balance customer support with the need to maintain standards and compliance.
- Are organised, proactive and able to keep projects moving.
Why join BRE?
