We’re looking for an Facilities Operations Officer to play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the BRE Garston Estate. Working as part of our wider Estates team, you’ll help coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities, oversee services delivered by third-party partners, and contribute to the smooth, efficient operation of our site.

Your role at BRE

  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors delivering M&E, cleaning, landscaping, waste, and minor works services
  • Schedule and manage access for maintenance tasks, ensuring minimal disruption to operational areas
  • Monitor and audit completion of both planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with SLAs and KPIs
  • Support the operation of the Estates Helpdesk system, tracking and reporting on reactive tasks and performance trends
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities and contractor performance
  • Liaise with stakeholders to provide progress updates and manage expectations
  • Raise and track purchase orders for contractors and suppliers, ensuring timely approvals and payments
  • Support ad‑hoc activities such as film production coordination and tenant service requests
  • Assist in ensuring contractor compliance with site rules, health and safety, and quality standards
  • Deputise for the Senior Operations Manager as required and provide flexibility for occasional out‑of‑hours support

Your profile

  • Proven experience in estates operations or facilities maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of building maintenance and safety standards.
  • Professional, customer‑focused, and an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and CAFM/Estates Management software.
  • Methodical, accurate, and detail‑oriented approach to work.
  • (BTEC/NVQ) in facilities management, construction, or building services; technical (electrical/mechanical) qualifications desirable.

Work Location

On‑Site. This role requires full‑time presence at our Watford office. You must live within a commutable distance.
