Your role at BRE: As a Technical Auditor, you will support the effective delivery of BREEAM assessments by conducting high-quality desktop-based audits. Working as part of the Certification and Operations team within Building Performance Services (BPS), the role ensures that BREEAM certification processes remain robust, consistent, and customer-focused.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical audits of BREEAM assessments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with scheme requirements.
  • Manage and prioritise individual workload to meet turnaround times and service deadlines.
  • Provide support to customers via phone, email, and live chat, ensuring clear and professional communication.
  • Maintain accurate records and update certification databases as required.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the audit process and maintain consistency in audit outcomes.
  • Support the training and upskilling of colleagues, including onboarding of new team members.
  • Participate in professional development and actively seek opportunities to enhance technical knowledge.
  • Assist the leadership team with performance monitoring and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Support the delivery of fast-track certification services and contribute to customer satisfaction targets.

Your profile:

Technical Competencies:

  • Technical Auditing: Ability to carry out consistent, detailed desktop reviews of documentation and evidence against established criteria and standards.
  • Process Adherence: Ability to follow standard operating procedures, audit protocols, and quality assurance requirements with accuracy and consistency.
  • Written Communication: High standard of written English, with the ability to communicate technical outcomes clearly and professionally.
  • Data and Records Management: Competence in maintaining accurate, up-to-date records in line with operational procedures and compliance requirements.
  • IT Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel and Word); confidence in using in-house software and learning new systems quickly.
  • Customer Service: Experience in handling customer queries, providing clear guidance, and managing expectations through various communication channels.
  • Knowledge of Sustainability Assessment: Understanding of BREEAM schemes or similar sustainability certification frameworks (desirable and trainable).

Work Location Options: Hybrid – This role offers a mix of home and office working. You will need to be within commuting distance of our Watford or Glasgow office, as you will be expected to attend in person once per week.
