Your role at BRE

This role supports the delivery of fire testing services for construction products, with a focus on roofing materials. Working within the Fire Protection, Passive and Suppression team, the technician will assist in the preparation, execution, and documentation of tests in line with relevant fire safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and carry out fire tests, including ignition, flame spread, heat release, smoke opacity, and toxicity assessments
  • Maintain accurate records and test documentation in accordance with regulatory and internal standards
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and laboratory protocols during testing activities
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment and ensure the laboratory is kept in a compliant state
  • Follow work instructions and standard methods accurately and reliably
  • Report progress, test outcomes, and any potential issues to the Section Leader
  • Manage time effectively to meet testing schedules and maintain throughput targets
  • Support continuous improvement and routine problem-solving within the lab environment

Work Location
