Overview

As LPS 1048 Scheme Auditor at BRE, you will audit sprinkler contractors and verify compliance with LPC rules to uphold the integrity of the LPCB sprinkler certification scheme across the UK and Ireland. You will blend technical assessment with client engagement, balancing site visits and desk work to support scheme development. Your work will drive accurate reporting, timely handling of non-conformances, and informed certification decisions. Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct technical surveillance audits of certified sprinkler contractors
  • Review system designs for compliance through detailed assessments
  • Carry out site inspections to verify installations meet standards
  • Record audit findings and produce high-quality reports
  • Review responses to non-conformances within agreed timeframes
  • Support certification decisions by recommending approvals, additional audits, or suspensions
  • Represent the business professionally with clients and stakeholders
  • Contribute to audit support, service improvements, and new customer development

Key requirements

  • Strong experience within the commercial sprinkler industry (design, installation, service, or management)
  • In-depth knowledge of LPC Sprinkler Rules and relevant sprinkler standards
  • Good technical understanding of sprinkler systems and equipment
  • Awareness of residential and domestic sprinkler applications
  • LPCB or BAFSA sprinkler qualifications (or willingness to work towards them)
  • Excellent attention to detail and report-writing ability
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Well-organised and able to manage own workload
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider team
