Overview

As International Lead Auditor at BRE you will lead audits of management systems and Factory Production Control to support product certification across the built environment. You will travel to client sites worldwide, assess ISO and scheme compliance, and help clients achieve certification. You’ll work within BRE’s Assurance team, delivering audits, reporting findings, and supporting certification services while developing your expertise across diverse industries. This is a globally mobile, client-facing role at a respected, mission-driven organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise and deliver management systems and FPC audits for certification schemes
  • Assess compliance against ISO standards, scheme requirements, and industry criteria
  • Produce clear, accurate audit reports within agreed timescales
  • Review corrective actions and responses to non-conformities
  • Build professional relationships with clients while maintaining audit independence
  • Manage your own audit schedule and travel arrangements to meet objectives
  • Support development of certification services and new customer engagements
  • Represent BRE professionally during client visits, witnessed audits, and accreditation activities

Key requirements

  • Background in engineering, quality management, manufacturing, or related technical discipline
  • Experience in manufacturing environments (electronics, chemicals, polymers, metalworking, or similar)
  • Knowledge of ISO management systems auditing, particularly ISO 9001
  • Understanding of management system standards, Factory Production Control processes, and certification requirements
  • Strong organisational, planning, and report-writing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and evidence-based decision making
  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel internationally for extended periods, sometimes two weeks or more
