Are you passionate about Fire Safety, seeking a new Permanent Job? My client has an immediate opportunity to join their Compliance Team on a permanent basis. The successful applicant will manage fire safety and building safety major works across all building categories, including high-rise, mid-rise, and low-rise buildings, ensuring compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO 2005) and the Building Safety Act 2022 (BSA 2022).

Responsibilities:

  • Manage fire safety and building safety major works projects from inception to completion.
  • Conduct risk assessments for each project & ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Oversee contractor and consultant performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory standards, ensuring all projects follow correct processes and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts, monitor project expenditure and provide regular financial reports whilst ensuring projects are delivered within budget.
  • Ensure projects adhere to agreed timescales and performance benchmarks (KPIs).
  • Undertake regular site inspections to assess the quality of works and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including internal teams, contractors, consultants, and residents, ensuring clear communication and collaboration between all parties to facilitate smooth project delivery.
  • Procure appropriate contractors, ensuring alignment with project requirements and value-for-money.
  • Manage contract variations, claims, and disputes effectively.

Requirements:

  • Qualified to HNC level in a building related discipline and/or demonstrable experience of working in a similar role within a housing association or contractor.
  • Knowledge of fire safety and building safety regulations, including FSO 2005 and BSA 2022.
  • Experience in the construction industry in a similar role.
  • Ability to organise, plan, project manage and execute works efficiently.
  • Strong experience in managing contractors and consultants within major works projects.
  • Full Driving licence with use of own vehicle and appropriate business insurance.
