Domestic Abuse Support Worker £24,500 Full-time Brecon We are currently recruiting for a Domestic Abuse Support Worker to join a specialist accommodation service in Brecon, supporting women, families, children and young people affected by domestic abuse. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience supporting vulnerable adults and families who is passionate about providing safe, person-centred support and helping individuals rebuild their confidence and independence. The role will involve: Providing emotional and practical support to victims and survivors of domestic abuse Supporting families throughout their stay in accommodation Helping women, children and young people develop confidence, independence and practical life skills Completing ongoing risk assessments and supporting safeguarding arrangements Maintaining accurate case notes, support plans and records Supporting families with housing-related matters, including Housing Benefit applications Promoting positive parenting and healthy family relationships Supporting children and young people affected by domestic abuse Working with statutory, voluntary and community agencies Supporting families to prepare for moving on from accommodation into the community Helping to maintain a safe, welcoming and supportive accommodation environment We’re looking for someone with: Experience supporting vulnerable adults, families or individuals affected by domestic abuse A good understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on individuals and families Strong communication and written skills, including report writing Good IT and organisational skills The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle Flexibility to work evenings and weekends and participate in a 24-hour emergency on-call rota is required.
