BRC are working closely with a well-established Housing Association based in Swansea to recruit an experienced Building Surveyor to join their property services team.

This role involves managing a varied portfolio of housing stock, ensuring properties are safe, compliant, and well maintained, while delivering high-quality surveying and contract management services.

Duties:

  • Carry out building surveys, inspections, and condition reports across residential properties
  • Manage day-to-day repairs, planned maintenance, and minor works projects
  • Prepare specifications, schedules of work, and tender documentation
  • Oversee contractors on site, monitoring performance, quality, and compliance
  • Ensure all works meet current legislation, health & safety, and housing standards
  • Diagnose building defects and recommend appropriate remedial actions
  • Manage budgets and ensure value for money is achieved
  • Liaise with residents, internal teams, and external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a Building Surveyor, ideally within social housing or local authority
  • Relevant qualification in Building Surveying or Construction (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, health & safety, and housing legislation
  • Experience managing contractors and building works on site
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
