About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our Complex Needs Service in Plymouth, supporting adults and families. This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll empower individuals to develop independence, improve wellbeing, and work towards positive life outcomes. You’ll support people with tenancy management, understanding benefits, budgeting, and building essential life skills, while promoting social inclusion and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with complex needs
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, colleagues, and partner agencies
- Develop and review outcome-focused support plans
- Promote independence, choice, and social inclusion
- Complete risk assessments and manage risk appropriately
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to service outcomes
- Work within professional boundaries, ensuring safeguarding and confidentiality
About You
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience supporting individuals with diverse and complex needs
- Ability to build professional relationships and maintain boundaries
- Experience contributing to support plans and maintaining records
- Strong decision-making skills and accountability
- Ability to work independently (including lone working) and as part of a team
- Flexible approach to working hours
- Understanding of equality, diversity, and safeguarding
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge of housing-related support
- Understanding of employment, training, or social inclusion pathways
- Experience working in housing or support settings
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant field
