BRC Recruitment are currently working with a leading social housing provider to recruit a Healthy Homes Disrepair Senior Planner to join their Homecare Directorate.

This is a key role responsible for planning and delivering complex disrepair cases from initial inspection through to completion, ensuring cases are managed in line with legislation, SLAs and customer service standards.

The Role

  • Managing and prioritising daily workloads to ensure jobs are completed within required timescales and KPIs are achieved.
  • Providing day-to-day line management of Disrepair Schedulers, supporting performance and development.
  • Ensuring disrepair cases and works are accurately recorded and tracked.
  • Coordinating quoted works, approvals, purchase orders and contractor instructions.
  • Managing the ordering and delivery of materials to ensure works can commence on time.
  • Liaising with surveyors, supervisors and contractors to coordinate works through to completion.
  • Ensuring disrepair pre-inspections and follow-on works are scheduled within the required SLA.
  • Arranging post-inspections of completed works.
  • Proofreading disrepair pre-inspection reports before submission to Legal.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including Legal, Customer Relations and Housing teams.
  • Chairing weekly disrepair meetings to ensure claims continue to progress effectively.
  • Overseeing the decant process where required.
  • Producing monthly disrepair reporting for senior management.

About You

  • A sound working knowledge of the legal disrepair process and social housing obligations.
  • Experience working in a busy environment with competing priorities.
  • Experience of managing or supporting a team.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads, work independently and meet deadlines and KPIs.
  • An understanding of relevant procedures, policies, legal and health and safety requirements.
