BRC are working closely with a leading housing organisation to recruit a Customer Contact Advisor on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong customer service experience who enjoys helping people and resolving a wide range of housing-related enquiries in a fast-paced contact centre environment.

This role involves delivering an excellent front-line customer service by handling enquiries via telephone, face-to-face and digital channels. You will resolve a broad range of housing enquiries, provide advice and support to residents, and ensure customers receive a prompt, professional and high-quality service.

Duties:

  • Act as the first point of contact for customers via telephone, face-to-face and digital channels.
  • Resolve a wide range of customer enquiries, aiming to achieve first-contact resolution wherever possible.
  • Diagnose and raise responsive repair requests, arrange appointments and liaise with contractors.
  • Provide advice and support regarding anti-social behaviour, tenancy queries and rent accounts.
  • Book appointments for surveyors, housing officers, income officers and contractors.
  • Record and update customer information accurately on internal systems.
  • Follow up on complex enquiries to ensure they are resolved to a high standard.
  • Carry out administration tasks relating to customer enquiries and case resolution.
  • Keep up to date with policies, procedures and housing services to provide accurate advice.
  • Identify customer vulnerabilities and ensure services are delivered appropriately.
  • Contribute ideas to improve customer service and team performance.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a contact centre, customer service or front-line service role.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience using IT systems to accurately record customer information.
  • Ability to work to targets and manage a busy workload.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of customer enquiries.
  • Experience within social housing or a housing-related environment would be advantageous.
