About the Role:

We are looking for a committed and motivated Support Worker to join a dynamic team within a short-stay service that helps individuals move towards independent living. This service supports people to overcome barriers, build resilience, and achieve their long-term goals.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a tangible difference in people’s lives. You will work directly with individuals facing homelessness and other complex needs, providing structured, person-centred support.

Working Pattern:

You will work on a 9-week rolling rota, covering early (07:00 – 15:30) and late shifts (13:00 – 21:30), including 3 weekends within each 9-week period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver person-centred support, empowering individuals to progress on their recovery journey and achieve sustainable independence
  • Build strong, therapeutic relationships using a psychologically informed and trauma-sensitive approach
  • Facilitate client meetings and encourage active participation in decision-making
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review individual support plans within required timeframes
  • Work one-to-one with clients to achieve agreed goals and positive outcomes
  • Ensure clients are supported to maximise benefits and manage personal finances in line with their plans
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver effective in-house support programmes
  • Coordinate and delegate tasks to assistant support workers to ensure support plans are carried out effectively
  • Identify and refer to appropriate external services where additional support needs cannot be met internally
  • Complete and review client assessments, including risk assessments, ensuring a safe and supportive environment

About You:

  • It is essential that you have experience of working with individuals who have experienced homelessness or have been at high risk of homelessness.
  • Knowledge of the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness and vulnerability
  • An understanding of psychologically informed environments and trauma-aware practice
  • Confidence in decision-making and the ability to take initiative
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Competency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and collaborative team environment
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful impact
  • Potential for permanent employment following the temporary contract
  • Ongoing training and professional development
