Waking Night Young People Support Worker
Location: Salisbury
Salary: £12.71 + 10% night enhancement
Duration: Temp to perm
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
About the Role
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Waking Night Young People Support Workers to support young people leaving care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical and emotional support to young people.
- Support with accommodation, welfare benefits, health and personal needs.
- Encourage independent living skills, including budgeting, cooking and household management.
- Build positive relationships and promote confidence and self-esteem.
- Organise activities that encourage engagement and social interaction.
- Liaise with external agencies, housing providers and support services.
- Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures.
- Work independently during waking night shifts and as part of a wider team.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
- Has excellent communication and listening skills.
- Is empathetic, patient, reliable and organised.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Is willing to learn and undertake training.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
Essential:
- Full UK driving licence and access to a roadworthy vehicle with business insurance.
- Full enhanced DBS on the adults and children’s barred list.
- Visa sponsorship is not available.
