BRC are currently recruiting for an experienced Domestic Abuse Support Worker to join a specialist service supporting individuals and families affected by domestic violence and abuse across Monmouthshire. Working within a trauma informed environment, you will provide practical and emotional support to individuals at various stages of their journey, helping them to achieve safety, stability, and independence. Support may be delivered within refuge accommodation or in the community, depending on service needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out risk and needs assessments and develop person centred support plans.
- Provide trauma informed support to individuals affected by domestic abuse.
- Deliver safeguarding, advocacy, and crisis intervention support.
- Support service users to access housing, benefits, health services, and community resources.
- Work collaboratively with local authorities, housing providers, and other partner agencies.
- Assist individuals to maintain safe accommodation, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to multi agency working.
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and risk management.
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi agency environment.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Enhanced DBS (issued within the last 12 months or registered on the Update Service).
