We're recruiting on behalf of a leading packaging manufacturer in Pocklington for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.

The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production machinery through a combination of planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support.
You'll also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to increase equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production equipment.
- Respond to mechanical breakdowns and carry out fault diagnosis and repairs.
- Maintain conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, motors, hydraulics and pneumatic systems.
- Support machinery upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
- Accurately record maintenance activities using the CMMS system.
- Work closely with production teams to maximise equipment performance.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
About You
To be successful, you'll ideally have
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
- A recognised mechanical engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working on industrial production machinery.
- Basic electrical fault-finding experience would be advantageous.
- A proactive attitude with a strong focus on reliability and continuous improvement.
