A leading manufacturer of high‑quality analytical instrumentation is seeking an additional Field Service Engineer to join their established Service & Technical Division, supporting customers across the Midlands and the surrounding region. The Role

  • Managing your own schedule of preventative maintenance, repairs, and breakdown support
  • Performing equipment installations, qualifications (IQ/OQ), and end‑user training
  • Diagnosing faults using a mix of detailed protocols and initiative‑based problem solving
  • Using service software to record, document, and close jobs promptly and accurately
  • Prioritising and planning your workload to meet customer expectations
  • Supporting colleagues in other regions when required
  • Primarily home‑based, with occasional overnight stays for larger or more distant jobs

What We\’re Looking For

  • Experience as a Field Service Engineer – ideally in analytical/laboratory, medical devices, or scientific equipment
  • Mechanical or electrical engineering skills with good fault‑finding ability
  • Attention to detail, organisation, and excellent communication skills
  • Some knowledge of chemistry is helpful – or a willingness to learn with support
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region
