A leading manufacturer of high‑quality analytical instrumentation is seeking an additional Field Service Engineer to join their established Service & Technical Division, supporting customers across the Midlands and the surrounding region. The Role
- Managing your own schedule of preventative maintenance, repairs, and breakdown support
- Performing equipment installations, qualifications (IQ/OQ), and end‑user training
- Diagnosing faults using a mix of detailed protocols and initiative‑based problem solving
- Using service software to record, document, and close jobs promptly and accurately
- Prioritising and planning your workload to meet customer expectations
- Supporting colleagues in other regions when required
- Primarily home‑based, with occasional overnight stays for larger or more distant jobs
What We\’re Looking For
- Experience as a Field Service Engineer – ideally in analytical/laboratory, medical devices, or scientific equipment
- Mechanical or electrical engineering skills with good fault‑finding ability
- Attention to detail, organisation, and excellent communication skills
- Some knowledge of chemistry is helpful – or a willingness to learn with support
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region
