Brayton Academy seeks an inspiring and ambitious Head of Performing Arts with strengths that would ideally include both Drama and Music. This role is ideal for a colleague who enjoys bringing performance, creativity, and collaboration to life through both curricular and extra-curricular opportunities. The successful candidate will have experience delivering GCSE Drama or Music and the knowledge, skills and passion for developing an engaging and ambitious KS3 Performing Arts curriculum.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Performing Arts department with a commitment to delivering high-quality curricular and extra-curricular provision in Music and Drama.
  • Develop and implement an engaging KS3 Performing Arts curriculum and ensure progression to GCSE outcomes where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with staff to create an inclusive, ambitious learning environment and participate in coaching and professional development initiatives.
  • Monitor and raise student achievement and behaviour in line with school policies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience delivering GCSE Drama or Music.
  • Strong knowledge of Performing Arts curriculum development for KS3 (and GCSE where applicable).
  • Evidence of successful leadership in an educational setting and a commitment to staff welfare and workload reduction.
