The Regional Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Group's Health, Safety and Environmental Management System across a designated geographical region. Working in partnership with General Managers, Aftersales Managers and local leadership teams, the role provides practical advice and assurance to help maintain safe, compliant and well-managed workplaces. The postholder will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture by building strong working relationships, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting managers to meet both legal requirements and Company standards. Acting as a visible presence across the region, the Advisor will help drive continuous improvement in health, safety and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Regional Advisor will undertake planned site visits to complete audits, inspections and compliance reviews, providing independent assurance that Company policies, statutory requirements and best practice are being consistently applied.
  • They will monitor the completion of actions arising from audits, inspections and risk assessments, escalating significant risks where appropriate.
  • The role provides day-to-day support and guidance to site management teams, assisting with risk assessments, accident prevention, environmental compliance and the implementation of effective control measures.
  • Advisors will work collaboratively with operational leaders to develop practical solutions that improve compliance while supporting business performance.
  • The Advisor will investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and environmental events, supporting managers in identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions and sharing lessons learned across the wider business to prevent recurrence.
  • The Advisor will support Group-wide initiatives, promote employee involvement and encourage a culture where health, safety and environmental management is viewed as everyone's responsibility.
  • The role will also monitor compliance with statutory inspection programmes and key risk areas, including fire safety, occupational health, workshop safety, lifting equipment, asbestos, legionella, waste management and environmental controls.
  • Accurate records will be maintained, with regular reports produced to support regional performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
