We're looking for a MarTech Engineer to own and evolve our CRM data platform. Today it powers scheduled data syncs; tomorrow it will power real-time, multi-channel marketing and audience activation across email, mobile push notifications, and future channels like WhatsApp. This is a platform engineering role with product ownership. You'll build the systems behind CRM while owning the platform end to end - from architecture and reliability to governance and self-service. You'll also partner with the engineers responsible for our mobile attribution platform to support our marketing measurement stack.
The Marketing Data team builds the automation and infrastructure behind Supercell's player lifecycle marketing and marketing measurement. We move player data and events between our data warehouse, CRM platform, and attribution stack - reliably, securely, and at scale.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the CRM data platform.
- Build and operate reliable, scalable, and compliant data pipelines between our warehouse and CRM platforms, and build strong engineering partnerships with internal teams and vendors.
- Build real-time capabilities.
- Deliver player events into and from the CRM platform in near real time to power triggered lifecycle messaging and richer player experiences.
- Expand our messaging channels.
- Build the data, identity, and subscription foundations that enable channels such as email, mobile push notifications, and future messaging platforms to launch on the same reliable infrastructure.
- Support marketing measurement.
- Partner on our mobile attribution stack, helping ensure accurate attribution and conversion data flows between marketing platforms and our warehouse – so marketing performance can be measured end to end.
- Build privacy by design.
- Ensure consent, identity management and GDPR requirements are built into the platform from day one, alongside platform- and region-specific mobile privacy frameworks and requirements.
- Enable self-service.
- Build tools and workflows that allow new CRM data sources and events to be onboarded quickly, safely, and with minimal engineering effort.
- Build reliable production systems.
- Apply good engineering practices, including testing, CI/CD, observability, alerting, and resilient system design.
What it might look like in your first 6–12 months
- Move CRM from batch to real time.
- Build a Kinesis-to-Braze event service for a high-value player trigger, validate its latency and reliability, then scale it into a reusable platform capability.
- Launch mobile push notifications as a first-class channel.
- Build the data, identity, and subscription foundations, launch the channel for one game, then create a repeatable onboarding model for future games.
- Connect CRM to our internal CDP.
- Integrate with our internal audience platform so internally built audiences are available as a CRM platform activation layer.
- Evolve the CRM workspace architecture.
- As the CRM program grows, lead the evolution from a shared workspace to a workspace-per-game model while keeping identity, reporting, and data pipelines consistent.
- Reduce onboarding from days to minutes.
- Build a documented, validated self-service onboarding workflow so new CRM data syncs can be added quickly and safely with minimal engineering effort.
- Turn CRM audiences into paid retargeting.
- Use the CRM platform's and custom in-house ad-platform connectors to activate player audiences for retargeting, closing the loop between owned and paid channels.
- Strengthen privacy and compliance.
- Validate consent and age restrictions, and account deletion across both batch and real-time pipelines, backed by automated testing and monitoring.
To excel here, you
- Own systems, not just code.
- This is a platform engineering role with product ownership.
- You can take a problem from an idea to a reliable, production service.
- Are a strong engineer.
- You're comfortable building production services and integrating with APIs at scale.
- Have strong data engineering skills.
- You have experience with PySpark, Delta Lake, Databricks (or a similar platform), and building reliable batch and streaming pipelines.
- Are comfortable with AWS and modern platform engineering.
- You have experience with services such as Kinesis, S3, and IAM, infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform), and modern CI/CD practices.
- Have built event-driven systems.
- You understand streaming technologies such as Kinesis, Kafka, or Pub/Sub, including ordering, retries, backpressure, and failure handling.
- Know CRM and engagement platforms.
- Braze experience is ideal, but experience with similar platforms is equally valuable.
- Understand messaging platforms.
- You're familiar with email and mobile push notifications, along with the identity and subscription models behind them.
- Build with privacy in mind.
- You understand consent management, GDPR, data retention, and handle data responsibly.
- Communicate well across disciplines.
- You enjoy working with engineers, marketers, and analysts, and know when to build self-service solutions versus owning operational complexity.
- Thrive in ambiguity.
- You're comfortable owning problems, learning quickly, and focusing on impact for players.
Would Be Nice if You Also Have
- Experience evolving a CRM or lifecycle platform from batch to real time.
- Hands-on experience with Braze (Currents, CDI, REST APIs, subscription groups, Liquid personalization).
- Experience with email deliverability, including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, sending domains, and domain/IP warm-up.
- Experience operating mobile push notification platforms (APNs/FCM).
- Experience with digital advertising networks ETL and rETL connectors.
- Experience in mobile gaming or other high-scale b2c products.
- Experience using AI or LLM tools in your engineering workflow.
