Purpose of the Role:
To technically develop, pattern cut and grade D+ lingerie and swimwear that offers our customers excellent fit, support and quality. Working collaboratively with Buying, Merchandising, Supply, QA and our suppliers you will take full technical ownership of your styles at every stage of the product lifecycle from concept development, fitting and sealing, to bulk production and delivery AQL. You will support the Senior and Lead Tech in working towards the delivery of strategic focuses and objectives while working closely with all team members to support the smooth running of the technical department day to day. As part of our commitment to delivering the best experience for our customers you will ensure that you proactively seek feedback through regular time in customer facing areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with the buying team and our suppliers to create new products; problem solving to find technical solutions through pattern, garment construction and materials to deliver the best fit and quality for our customers
- Cutting and grading patterns from concept to production, making amendments after weekly fit sessions and creating graded measurement charts
- Work closely with the sample machinists to ensure samples are made correctly to the method of construction and to the quality standard required
- Collaborate with the team to manage the workflow and support the smooth running of the sampling process and other key day to day department processes such as weekly fits, AQL approvals etc
- In weekly fitting sessions manage the fit and sealing approval process, fitting samples, carrying out measurement and quality checks, giving accurate feedback
- Create and maintain accurate technical packs and BOM’s from costing to production, ensuring clear communication of fit, quality, and production details that allow factories to produce garments to a high standard
- Manage product quality throughout whole lifecycle ensuring that all styles are fit for end purpose and bulk production by testing materials and garments, carrying out wear testing and approving test reports
- Manage styles in line with Critical Path working collaboratively with both internal teams and suppliers to problem solve and offer solutions to ensure key milestones are met
- Create AQL paperwork and packs, working closely with warehouse QC team to support the full AQL process and ensure that styles are approved in time for planned launch
- Managing and maintaining strong relationships with our suppliers and factories working with the other techs to monitor quality and seasonal performance. This will involve some international travel to factories as required
- Working with your manager and wider teams to support the delivery of business strategic objectives and focuses
Person Specifications:
- Min 3 years relevant experience in product development, pattern cutting and grading
- Strong working experience of CAD pattern cutting and grading system preferably Lectra Modaris
- Passion for creating and developing great fitting lingerie and swimwear product
- Good working knowledge of garment construction for bulk production
- Attention to detail and able to work accurately under pressure
- Positive and self-motivated
- Organised and able to prioritise effectively to meet deadlines
- Able to manage unexpected change
- Strong communicator written and verbally
- Strong team player, confident to work collaboratively, willing to help and support others
- Able to travel overseas when required
