About the role

The Store Manager is responsible for leading all store operations to deliver exceptional customer service, achieve commercial targets, and maintain operational excellence. This role oversees staff management, visual standards, stock control, and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & People Management
    • Recruit, train, and develop store colleagues.
    • Create shift plans and manage daily staffing levels and roles in the store to maximise efficiency and drive sales.
    • Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and disciplinary processes where required.
    • Foster a positive, inclusive, high‑performing team culture.
  • Customer Experience
    • Ensure every customer receives exceptional service.
    • Handle escalated customer issues professionally.
    • Maintain a clean, welcoming, and well-presented store environment.
  • Sales & Commercial Performance
    • Drive sales to achieve or exceed store targets.
    • Analyse KPIs and business performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
    • Implement promotional campaigns and merchandising strategies.
    • Monitor competitor activity and local market trends.
  • Operations Management
    • Oversee daily store operations including opening, closing, and safe procedures.
    • Stocktakes: Ensure stock accuracy through regular counts and correct replenishment.
    • Maintain high standards of visual merchandising and store presentation.
    • Guarantee compliance with health & safety, security, and company policies.
  • Financial & Administrative Duties
    • Manage store budgets, staffing costs, and expenses.
    • Complete reports on sales, operations, and personnel activity.
    • Reduce shrinkage by implementing effective loss prevention measures.
