Brava Education is working with a small independent special school in the West Midlands to appoint an Interim Headteacher. The role starts as soon as possible and runs to February half term, with a handover to a permanent Headteacher starting in January. This is a small school where all the pupils have EHCPs. Most have autism and ADHD, and some have secondary SEMH needs. The current Headteacher will stay on as Executive Head to support you. Your main priority will be getting the school ready for its next Ofsted inspection, which is expected in the summer term. The role This is a non-teaching, hands-on leadership post. You will be responsible for: compliance with the Independent School Standards and readiness for inspection curriculum sequencing, teaching and learning, and quality assurance SEND provision and behaviour leadership, governance and the day-to-day running of the school What the school is looking for Experience of leading in an independent school, with a working knowledge of the Independent School Standards NPQH Experience in a small setting, and a willingness to hold every area of the Standards personally rather than delegating them A background in special needs education, ideally with autism and ADHD NASENCO would be an advantage Also available:
