Brava Education is working with a small independent specialist school in Derbyshire to appoint a permanent Headteacher.
The school supports young people with SEMH needs, most of whom have EHCPs. It opened recently and has passed its pre-registration inspection, with plans to grow. The new Headteacher will play a central part in shaping the school and leading it through its next stage of development.
The roleThis is a hands-on headship in a trauma-informed, therapeutic setting, for a leader who enjoys being visible in school as well as setting direction.
You will:
set the ethos and strategic vision of the school, and lead its improvement and growthlead the curriculum and the quality of teaching and learninglead safeguarding, pastoral care and SEND provisionensure compliance with the Independent School Standardswork closely with clinical and residential colleagues, families and local authoritiesYou will have the backing of an experienced regional leadership team.
About youQTS, with NPQH or equivalentLeadership experience in a special school or complex settingStrong knowledge of the Independent School Standards and of safeguardingAn understanding of residential children's homesExperience of trauma-informed practice and SEMHExperience of growing a school or provision would be an advantageTermsFull time and permanent. Competitive salary and dependent on experience.
