An experienced Interim Head of Maths is required to lead the mathematics department at a secondary school in south east Essex, starting as soon as possible. This is a full-time interim leadership role for a strong maths practitioner who can bring stability and structure to the department, drive consistency in teaching and learning, and lead at pace while a longer term appointment is worked through. It combines department leadership with a teaching commitment, including A level.
The role:
- Lead the maths department day to day, including team development and quality assurance
- Teach across all key stages up to and including KS5
- Drive consistency in curriculum, assessment and pedagogy
- Use data to plan intervention and raise outcomes
Essential:
- Strong maths background with recent A level teaching
- Leadership experience at head of department or senior leader level
- Ability to stabilise a department and make an impact quickly
- QTS or recognised equivalent
Details:
- Full time, daily rate basis
- Through to the end of the academic year (we need candidates that can commit to Christmas as a minimum)
- Coastal south east Essex (commutable from the wider Chelmsford and mid-Essex area)
