HEAD VALUER
We have an immediate requirement for an experienced Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer to join Brasier Freeth as our
Head Valuer .
This is a hands-on, fee-earning role with day-to-day responsibility for the firm’s Valuation service.
The role involves a broad range of commercial property valuations and development appraisals across different asset classes, principally for loan security, acquisition, accounts and other professional purposes.
Working alongside our wider team of Chartered Surveyors and Registered Valuers, the Head Valuer will also have an important role in maintaining established client relationships, developing the Valuation service and supporting graduate surveyors working towards their RICS APC.
Key responsibilities
- Undertaking commercial property valuations and development appraisals across a range of property types and for a variety of purposes.
- Managing valuation instructions from initial enquiry and quotation through to inspection, reporting and completion.
- Maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and contributing to the continued development of the Valuation service.
- Managing workload and ensuring instructions are delivered to the required technical standard and within agreed timescales.
- Taking an active role in supervising and mentoring graduate surveyors, including supporting their development through the valuation elements of their APC.
- Taking responsibility for the day-to-day professional requirements of the Valuation service, including relevant RICS and Valuer Registration requirements and input into the firm’s PI renewal.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm and drawing upon the experience of BF’s wider team of Chartered Surveyors and Registered Valuers.
- Candidate requirements
- RICS qualified Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer.
- Commercial property valuation experience across a range of property types.
- Sound knowledge of valuation methodology, RICS professional standards and valuation reporting.
- Able to manage a varied valuation workload independently and take ownership of client instructions.
- Strong client relationship and communication skills.
- Comfortable supervising and developing graduate surveyors.
- Commercial, organised and self-motivated, with a high level of professional and technical standards.
- Clean driving licence.
