Our client, one of the UK's largest pension funds, is seeking an experienced Governance Manager to join their team in the West Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in ensuring the effective governance and compliance of the Fund's operations.
Position Overview
The Governance Manager will work closely with the Fund's Governing Body members to provide support, manage meetings, develop training programmes, and ensure compliance with data protection and freedom of information legislation.
Responsibilities
- Support Fund's Governing Body members in their roles
- Manage, coordinate and deliver Governing Body meetings
- Develop and implement Governing Body training programme
- Ensure Fund's compliance with data protection legislation
- Coordinate responses to data protection and FOI requests
- Review and adopt statutory policies as required
- Design and deliver employee training on relevant areas
Requirements
- Proven stakeholder management experience
- Assertive and confident communicator
- Experience with defined benefit pensions, ideally LGPS
- Knowledge of data protection and FOI legislation
- Ability to develop and deliver training programmes
- Strong organisational and coordination skills
