A respected Further Education college in Wales is recruiting a full-time Estates Officer / Handyperson on a temporary contract. This is a practical, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of a busy campus. Ideal for someone with caretaking or facilities experience who takes pride in maintaining a safe, well-presented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Opening and securing buildings (key-holding)
  • Daily site checks and ensuring a safe, compliant campus
  • Minor repairs, first-line maintenance, and basic DIY tasks
  • Setting up classrooms, exam spaces, and events
  • Responding to facilities requests from staff and students
  • Supporting health & safety routines, including fire alarm testing
  • Grounds duties such as litter picking and gritting
  • Porterage: moving furniture, equipment, and deliveries
  • Occasional support with call-outs or shift cover

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in estates, caretaking, facilities, or building maintenance
  • Practical maintenance/DIY skills
  • Strong awareness of health & safety
