We are recruiting for a fully qualified, mobile Commercial Maintenance Electrician to join our expanding hard services team. Based in North Yorkshire, you will manage a highly diverse portfolio of regional maintenance contracts, executing reactive breakdown repairs, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and compliance testing. Our client base spans multiple sectors, including high-street retail hubs, premium hospitality venues, active healthcare clinics, and private care home environments. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, technically thorough electrician who enjoys variety in their daily work, thrives in guest-facing settings, and wants the stability of a permanent regional contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Reactive & Planned Maintenance: Fault-find, repair, and service commercial electrical systems, distribution boards, lighting networks, emergency lighting, and control gear across our contract portfolio.
- Compliance Electrical Testing: Execute comprehensive fixed-wire testing, electrical inspections, and verification checks in strict alignment with current regulations.
- Multi-Sector Site Navigation: Adapt seamlessly to different site rules—working efficiently and respectfully within sensitive healthcare and care environments, as well as fast-paced retail and hospitality venues.
- SLA and Mobile Job Tracking: Manage your daily workload via a digital tablet, completing digital worksheets, detailing material requirements, and ensuring jobs are closed out within agreed client timescales.
- Emergency Call-Out: Participate in the out-of-hours emergency standby rota (1 week in 4), providing rapid diagnostic support for critical client issues.
Essential Parameters
- 18th Edition: City & Guilds 2382 or equivalent wiring regulations certification.
- C&G 2391: City & Guilds 2391 (or 2394/2395) in Electrical Inspection and Testing is desired.
- Commercial Track Record: Proven experience delivering electrical maintenance services within commercial, corporate, retail, or healthcare environments.
- Travel Flexibility: Comfortable with a mobile position covering up to a 2-hour travel radius from a North Yorkshire base.
- Driving Licence: Full, clean UK Driving Licence.
- Attributes: Excellent communication and customer-facing skills; must be clean, tidy, and approachable on live client sites.
