We are looking for someone with a solid foundation in Joinery, but who possesses the "handyman" mindset required to tackle basic plumbing, electrical, and general building fabric tasks.
You will be the "go-to" person for fabric maintenance across a diverse portfolio of commercial buildings (offices, retail, and industrial). While predominantly based in the North East, you will manage a mobile schedule that includes sites in Yorkshire and the Scottish Central Belt.
Key Responsibilities:

- General Maintenance: Patch plastering, painting/decorating, and ceiling tile replacement.
- Basic Plumbing: Unblocking sinks, changing taps, repairing toilet flushes, and leak investigation.
- Basic Electrical: Bulb/lamp replacement, re-securing loose fittings, and assisting with emergency lighting tests.
- Facilities Support: Conducting regular site walk-rounds, identifying defects, and ensuring all common areas are safe and operational.
- Compliance: Working within a professional FM framework, documenting tasks via a PDA/tablet, and adhering to strict H&S guidelines.
Requirements:
- Trade Background: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Joinery/Carpentry is highly preferred.
- Multiskilled: Proven ability to "turn your hand" to basic plumbing, minor electrical, and general fabric repairs.
- Experience: Previous experience in a Commercial Maintenance or FM environment is essential.
- Communication: Comfortable liaising with site managers and office-based clients.
- Compliance: Full UK Driving License and a valid CSCS card.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel across the North East, Yorkshire, and Scotland.
What’s In It For You?
- Door-to-Door Travel: Your workday starts and ends at your front door—full pay for all travel time.
- Private Use of Van: A modern company vehicle is provided, with permission for personal use.
- Overtime Available: Regular opportunities to increase your earnings through additional hours.
- Autonomy: Manage your own daily route and tasks with support from a dedicated central desk.
- Stability: Long-term work on established, high-value commercial contracts.
If you are a skilled Joiner who enjoys a varied, mobile role where no two days are the same, we want to hear from you. Apply online or contact Astrid Camacho at Branta Recruitment.
