Branta are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Catering Engineer to join a regional team. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and emergency repair of a wide range of commercial kitchen equipment. This is a field-based role requiring a 'first-fix' mentality and excellent customer-facing skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Service & Repair: Diagnose and repair faults on commercial gas and electrical catering equipment (ranges, fryers, combi-ovens, and dishwashers).
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Conduct scheduled inspections to ensure equipment longevity and safety compliance.
- Installation: Commission and install new kitchen suites in accordance with manufacturer specifications and gas safety regulations.
- Safety Compliance: Complete gas safety certificates and digital job sheets accurately via a company tablet.
- Customer Service: Provide technical advice to kitchen staff and manage customer expectations regarding parts and lead times.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Gas Safety: Valid CCCN1 and COMCAT 1, 3, and 5 are essential. (COMCAT 2 and 4 are highly desirable).
- Electrical Knowledge: Ability to troubleshoot 1-phase and 3-phase electrical components.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in the commercial catering industry.
- Driving License: Full, clean UK driving license.
- Attitude: A flexible approach to overtime and participation in a weekend on-call rota.
