Branta are seeking a practical, personable and helpful Handyman with experience to join a facilities team in North Tyneside. Working as part of a supportive, multi-skilled team, you’ll take responsibility for day-to-day site upkeep, carrying out basic repairs, maintenance, and caretaking duties across a range of properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Opening, securing, and checking sites each day.
- Carrying out basic maintenance and repair work.
- Completing planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Setting up rooms and moving furniture as required.
- Managing waste and keeping communal areas and grounds clean and tidy.
- Supporting the supervision of contractors and site visitors.
- Being approachable and willing to help staff, students, and visitors as needed.
About You:
You’ll be helpful, personable, and a true team player, taking pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. You’ll have a good range of general maintenance skills, the ability to work independently, and the willingness to support colleagues and site users.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a caretaker, facilities, or handyman role.
- Good basic DIY and repair skills.
- A full UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites.
- Willing to undertake enhanced DBS check.
- Must have driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience working within an estates or facilities management environment.
- Any trade skills or relevant maintenance qualifications.
