We are seeking a proactive, skilled electrician to join our dedicated on-site engineering team. Working within a modern, large-scale commercial facility, you will deliver a wide variety of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and small electrical installation works. This role offers the perfect balance of a stable 40-hour Monday-to-Friday schedule, abundant overtime opportunities, and a clear, structured pathway for career progression into supervisor, lead engineer, or management roles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspection & Testing: Carry out fixed wire testing, periodic inspections, thermal imaging, and produce accurate EICRs and certification using digital reporting tools.
- PPM & Reactive Maintenance: Maintain low-voltage (LV) electrical distribution systems, power circuits, emergency lighting, containment, and control panels.
- Small Installs & Projects: Execute minor electrical installations, modifications, LED upgrades, and refurbishment works across the site.
- Fault-Finding: Diagnose and resolve complex electrical breakdown faults quickly and safely to minimize operational disruption.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all works strictly comply with BS 7671 (18th Edition), site health & safety regulations, and RAMS protocols.
- Sub-Contractor Supervision: Assist with escorting and monitoring specialist sub-contractors during major plant overhauls.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualifications (Essential):
- City & Guilds 2391 (or 2394/2395) Inspection & Testing certification.
- City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or C&G 2360 / 2330 / 2357) / Apprentice Served.
- Experience: Proven background in commercial electrical maintenance, fault-finding, and small installation projects.
- Attitude: Professional, safety-conscious, and ambitious—keen to take advantage of internal development and progression opportunities.
