Otterbourne Primary School is looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Site Manager to join our happy, hardworking team. This is a key role in helping us maintain a safe, clean and inspiring environment for our children to learn and thrive.
We are proud of our excellent Health & Safety record, and our new Site Manager will play an important part in maintaining these high standards. You’ll work closely with Hampshire Caretaking Services and school leaders to ensure full compliance across the site. Our school sits within beautiful natural grounds, so this role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining a welcoming, attractive environment for pupils, staff, families and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Daily opening and closing of the school and ensuring site security
- Carrying out general maintenance, repairs and improvements
- Monitoring and maintaining heating, lighting and alarm systems
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety requirements and HCC policies
- Managing contractors and overseeing planned maintenance schedules
- Conducting regular site inspections and keeping accurate records
- Supervising third-party cleaning staff and ensuring high standards
- Ordering supplies and managing the premises budget responsibly
- Supporting school events, including occasional weekends or evenings
- Completing all Health & Safety risk assessments for the school
- Practical, resourceful and confident completing a wide range of maintenance tasks
- Organised, able to manage workloads, schedules and paperwork independently
- Committed to maintaining excellent Health & Safety standards
- A strong communicator who works well with staff, contractors and the wider community
- Positive, approachable and aligned with the school’s values
- Willing to undertake relevant training
- Experience in site management, building maintenance or compliance is desirable, but we welcome applicants with transferable skills
