Branta Recruitment is partnering with a high-growth, specialist mechanical service provider to recruit a Technical Air Conditioning Manager. Our client has built a reputation for excellence in the commercial maintenance sector and is currently scaling their operations nationwide.
The Role
You will lead a dedicated team of 10–15 F-Gas Engineers, ensuring that maintenance contracts are delivered to the highest standards across a diverse commercial portfolio, as well as looking after the client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Act as the ultimate technical authority for the AC division, providing on-the-phone and on-site guidance for complex VRF, VRV, and Close Control systems.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and performance-manage a regional team of engineers, overseeing their training, F-Gas compliance, and skills development.
- Service Delivery: Manage the execution of high-volume PPM schedules and reactive repair workflows, ensuring all work meets SFG20 standards.
- Operational Oversight: Conduct site audits and technical reviews to ensure first-time fix rates are high and safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Commercial Growth: Assist with technical surveys and quotations for system replacements or large-scale remedial works.
The Requirements
- Technical Background: Must be a time-served Air Conditioning Engineer with extensive experience in commercial HVAC systems.
- Qualifications: Valid F-Gas Category 1 is essential. Level 3 NVQ in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning preferred.
- Management Experience: Proven experience managing a team of 10+ mobile engineers within a commercial FM environment.
- Leadership Style: A lead-by-example approach with the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear client advice.
- Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of current F-Gas regulations, H&S legislation, and RAMS.
- Ambition: You should be someone who wants to grow alongside the business and eventually head up a larger division.
