The Role: Technical Lead for Critical Environments
On behalf of our client, a leading global provider of integrated facilities management, we are seeking an HVAC Supervisor to manage a specialized technical environment within a high-profile Bio-medical Research Unit near Loughborough. This is a pivotal role focused on the mechanical and electrical (M&E) assets that underpin sensitive scientific research. You will be responsible for the stability of critical environmental factors including temperature, humidity, pressure, and air changes ensuring they remain within the strict regulatory specifications required for research.

Key Responsibilities
- Environmental Stability: Acting as the first point of contact for maintenance services, using BMS data and mechanical expertise to diagnose any out-of-specification environmental changes.
- Performance Analysis: Driving the analysis of M&E asset performance to ensure the current and future availability and reliability of the research environment.
- Problem Resolution: Working closely with maintenance teams to form remediation plans and ensure solutions are provided within set timeframes.
- Root Cause Analysis: Identifying potential failures, conducting technical investigations, and facilitating root cause analysis.
- Contractor Management: Coordinating contractors and out-of-hours operatives, ensuring site inductions are completed and technical information is provided.
- Compliance: Assisting with the requirements of the Home Office Research License regarding hardware and asset replacement.
Candidate Requirements
The Professional Profile:
- Technical Background: Multi-skilled engineering background with a strong focus on HVAC and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Sector Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience in a technical reliability or similar role within a research, medical, or scientific environment.
- BMS Expertise: Essential experience with environmental controls and BMS engineering platforms.
- Analytical Skills: Proven ability to use statistical analysis and maintenance tools to manage asset reliability and solve complex problems.
