This role exists to keep people warm, kitchens running and buildings compliant β€” and to do it with integrity, expertise and speed. Performance Objectives Restore commercial gas appliances, boilers and plant-room equipment to safe, reliable operation on first visit wherever parts and access allow. Complete planned inspections and servicing so contracted assets stay compliant, documented and free of avoidable breakdowns. Install or support installation of gas appliances and heating plant to specification, Gas Safe requirements and agreed programme. Advise site teams when repair is no longer the right call, and supply accurate parts, labour and lead-time data for quotations. Hit health and safety, workmanship and profit-after-controllable-expenses targets, and follow core workflows without rework. Act as the regional subject-matter expert in one key gas competency, raising standards across the team. Environment & Resources You will work in a regional team of up to 20 directly employed commercial engineers, backed by a central technical support desk, parts and supplier contacts, and a van stock suited to reactive and planned gas work. You report to your regional engineering lead, cover a portfolio of key sites, and use the business job, quoting and compliance systems. Salary is negotiable with experience. Flexibility to cover colleagues and work outside core hours is part of the role. Proven commercial mechanical, heating and hot-water experience, including fault-finding on plant-room equipment. Clean, current UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
