We are hiring! We are looking for a Transport Manager to join the logistics team for our Abernethy site, where you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily transport operation and our driving team!
At Branston, potatoes are our business. We supply both fresh and prepared products to some of the UKβs leading retailers. Based at our Fresh site, this role plays a vital part in ensuring our spuds make it from the field to supermarket shelves.
Key responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Logistics Operations: Work closely with the Assistant Transport Manager to plan, coordinate, and oversee all transport activities at the Scotland Fresh site, collaborating with our growers, internal departments & other sites to ensure efficient and seamless operations.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and develop the transport team, driving high levels of engagement and performance across all shifts.
- Fleet Management: Oversee the maintenance, servicing, and repair of company vehicles, including regular inspections to ensure fleet reliability and safety.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all national and local transport regulations, including driver hours, vehicle standards, and licensing requirements.
- Cost Control & Performance: Monitor KPIs, manage budgets, and implement cost-control measures to support operational efficiency.
- Health & Safety: Act as a champion for health and safety, ensuring all team members and the wider business consistently adhere to company policies and procedures.
