Branston, a leader in the fresh and ready prepared potato sector, is seeking a passionate and experienced Site Technical Manager to join the team at our Added Value site. As a Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Your expertise will be crucial in overseeing the technical aspects of our operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and leading our quality assurance team.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and inspire the Quality Assurance (QA) and Hygiene teams, developing talent through coaching, clear objectives, and succession planning.
- Be an integral part of the site senior leadership team, helping shape and deliver the site's quality and operational strategy.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety legislation, customer codes of practice, and industry standards (including BRCGS, Red Tractor, and retailer standards).
- Oversee and lead third-party audits, customer visits, and ensure robust HACCP and TACCP systems are in place.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Operations, and Group Technical teams to maintain the highest standards of raw material and product quality.
- Manage and report against key performance indicators (KPIs), driving continuous improvement through data-led analysis and root-cause investigations.
- Champion a proactive quality culture across site making food safety everyone's responsibility.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry. We're looking for a confident leader who combines technical expertise with strong people and communication skills. You'll have:
- Proven experience in Technical and Food Safety Management within Produce or Food Manufacturing.
- Relevant HACCP and Food Safety qualifications (Level 3 or above).
- A strong understanding of BRCGS, retailer codes of practice, and other industry standards.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- A strong operational mindset and commercial awareness to balance quality with business objectives.
