The role: We are looking for a proactive Engineering Shift Leader with a passion for keeping things running smoothly and driving team performance. If you are a qualified problem-solver who thrives on tackling both planned and reactive maintenance, we want to hear from you!
What you will be doing:
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance across the factory.
- Ensure minimal production disruption during servicing and maintenance.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure targets are met on safety, output, quality, efficiency, energy and waste.
- Play an active role in continuous improvements ensuring technological advancements are embraced whilst ensuring the development/implementation of line and machinery improvements.
- Drive a team of engineers, including apprentices, on the shift to ensure targets are hit and job completion is met.
- Understand and report on Engineering KPIs including downtime, labour hours and spend, and ensure that information is delivered to the team.
- Use CMMS systems (ideally Shire) to manage daily work activities.
- Use your knowledge of safety systems to ensure compliance and conduct risk assessments for all tasks.
What we want from you:
- Experience in food manufacturing
- NVQ Level 3 or above in an Engineering subject relevant to FMCGs
- Recognised qualification in electrical competence including 18th Edition
- Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience in shift-level supervision and team coordination
- Holds a HACCP Level 2 qualification (preferred)
- Knowledge of TPM either through leading projects or working in a TPM environment (preferred)
