Branston is looking for Wash Line Section Managers to join our production team and take ownership of one of our critical production areas. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll ensure production runs safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, while developing and supporting a high-performing team.
Shift Pattern Information: X1 B Shift 06:30-Finish (Week 1: Thurs, Fri & Sat Week 2: Wed, Thurs, Fri & Sat)
Your Role: As a Wash Line Section Manager, you will lead and coordinate all shift operations within the Wash Line area. You’ll be responsible for:
- Shift Operations & Planning: Ensure pre-shift checks are completed and escalate any issues. Allocate team members effectively according to production plans, including coordinating with agencies for labour replacements. Communicate shift start success and any changes to Production Managers, Planning, and Technical teams. Monitor and report on staff attendance, manage sickness trends, and conduct RTW interviews.
- Team Leadership & Development: Mentor new starters and support them during probation. Conduct 1:1s and performance reviews, setting clear objectives and development pathways. Manage resources to ensure all staff are competently trained and meet technical standards. Support HR in probationary reviews and shop floor investigations where required.
- Process Ownership & Quality: Own the Wash Line process, performing visual inspections and monitoring performance data. Detect and escalate mechanical or program variances and liaise with Engineering to resolve issues. Work with QA teams to optimise quality performance and maintain GMP compliance. Ensure all staff follow safety, hygiene, and PPE requirements at all times.
- Performance & Continuous Improvement: Monitor and report on shift performance, productivity, and quality metrics. Take accountability for achieving targets, embedding a performance-driven culture. Identify opportunities for improvement and work with your team to implement best practices.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel.
- Experience in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to mentor, coach, and develop team members.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Commitment to health, safety, and GMP compliance.
