Are you an experienced leader in despatch operations looking for your next challenge in a fast-paced FMCG environment? We’re looking for a Despatch Manager to lead and manage our despatch function, ensuring efficient operations that meet customer, quality, and safety standards—while inspiring and leading a high-performing team.

The Opportunity

As Despatch Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately and on time, resources are optimised, and operations meet both internal and external standards including BRC and customer audits. You’ll also be a key voice in driving continuous improvement across our despatch processes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the Despatch department to meet health & safety, quality, and efficiency targets
  • Downloading customer orders and planning vehicle despatches
  • Managing trailer/equipment availability and fleet asset maintenance
  • Monitoring KPIs to drive cost control and labour efficiency
  • Ensuring compliance with audits, training, and SOPs
  • Coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and customers to maintain service levels
  • Managing offsite storage operations during peak periods, ensuring efficient use of external facilities and seamless coordination with internal teams
  • Overseeing the Fresh department’s MHE (Materials Handling Equipment), tracking and trending spend including repairs and servicing, and identifying opportunities for cost savings
  • Leading initiatives to improve performance in areas such as equipment utilisation, operational efficiency, and reliability

What You’ll Bring
