About the role:
At Bransby Horses, our Estates Department plays a vital role in providing a safe, healthy, and sustainable environment for approximately 250 horses. Managing more than 600 acres of land at the Bransby site, the team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the estate to ensure our equines can thrive in a well-managed and welfare-focused setting. Our work is diverse and rewarding, encompassing all aspects of land and estate management, including:
- Grassland and soil health
- Weed control
- Nutrient and manure management
- Fencing and infrastructure maintenance
- Trackway repairs
- Management of trees and hedgerows
Through careful stewardship of the estate, the team helps to sustainably support equine welfare and associated infrastructure across the site. The department is well equipped with a modern fleet of tractors, telehandlers, and specialist machinery, enabling the majority of land management and maintenance activities to be delivered in-house by our skilled and experienced team.
As Estates Supervisor, you will lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Estates Team, ensuring work is planned and delivered safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard. Working closely with the Estates Operations Manager and colleagues across our Equine Department, you will help ensure that land, facilities, and infrastructure continue to meet the needs of our horses while remaining compliant with relevant legislation and best practice.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced land-based professional who enjoys a varied, hands-on role and is passionate about leading a team, maintaining high standards, and contributing directly to exceptional equine welfare.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have at least 1 year's previous experience of working in a supervisory capacity
- Have strong organisational skills and the ability to manage the logistics of daily/weekly/monthly work plans
- Have strong demonstrable knowledge of grassland management and/or land related infrastructure management
- Be a good role model with excellent communication skills
- Work safely and promote safe working practices within the wider team
- Have a wide range of skills in using and managing modern farm machinery
